It is a kind of Soderberg electrode paste, also called anode paste self-baking electrode paste, which is made from anthracite, coke, asphalt and tar, and prepared at a certain temperature. The electrode can be used continuously and is formed by sintering the long edge of edge joint.
Special carbon electrode paste is widely used in ferroalloy electric furnace and calcium carbide furnace for its simple process and low cost. Performance of the paste is not different from that of carbon electrode when it is baked well.
