Soderberg Electrode Paste, or so called carbon electrode paste or anode paste or self-baking electrodes paste or electrode carbon paste, which is produced from Calcined petroleum coke (CPC), Electrically Calcined Anthracite (ECA), coal tar pitch and additional materials. As conductor and reductant, it is mainly used in submerged arc furnace under self-baking process for Ferro Alloys, nonferrous metals and Calcium Carbides smelting production.
There are a few forms (size) of Soderberg Electrode Paste, like cylinders, eggs, briquettes and polygonal blocks, are used for smelting based on different production process. A general description of it’s physical properties show as following table:
