Coal Injection

Coal injection auxiliary fuel for blast furnace is a new technology widely used in modern blast furnace ironmaking production, and it is also one of the indispensable means for modern blast furnace condition regulation. Fuel injected can be heavy oil, pulverized coal, granular coal or natural gas, among which pulverized coal-injection has been paid more and more attention by various countries and regions. This technology has made obvious progress in recent decades, and has been popularized and applied in related new iron making process.

Pulverized coal-injection is a reasonable choice for the technical progress of blast furnace, and organic combination of high blast temperature, oxygen enriched blast and pulverized coal-injection should not only benefit both coke saving and production increase, but also become an indispensable means of adjusting lower part of blast furnace.

Pursuing economic benefits and reducing pig iron cost is another important reason for development of BF coal injection technology. As price difference between coke and pulverized coal is increasing, the more coke is replaced by, the better of economic benefit.

Complete blast furnace injection process should include raw coal storage and transportation system, pulverizing system, pulverized coal conveying system, injection system, gas supply system and pulverized coal metering system. Newly designed injection system also includes computer control center of whole injection system.
